However you got here — through the method, the podcast, or something else entirely — welcome.

The YY Method started as a discipline for encoding the reasoning inside codebases and teams — the why behind decisions, not just the decisions themselves. It turned out to work the same way everywhere judgment under constraint is required: personal finance, family architecture, creative work.

This site is where that work accumulates.

About

Ben Chan is a systems architect and the creator of the YY Method — a personal epistemological framework for making decisions durable under constraint.

The method applies in technical environments: codebases, teams, knowledge systems where the reasoning behind decisions decays faster than the decisions themselves. It applies equally outside them — from high stakes personal decisions down to everyday repetitive tasks. The structure is the same. Judgment under constraint, captured before it disappears.

The work spans systems, music, and language. The thread is the method.
